Student Body

Twenty students are admitted to Brakebills every year; since Brakebills offers a five-year program, that brings the total student population to precisely 100. It's a diverse group -- the admissions does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender or income. The sole criteria for admission are extreme intelligence and an aptitude for magic.
The presence of a large number of genius-level intellects in close quarters, under the pressure of Brakebills' notoriously challenging curriculum, can lead to interpersonal conflict. In the vast majority of cases, those conflicts have been resolved non-violently. |

Accommodations

Students are assigned individual rooms in the House, based on seniority. Meals are served in the dining hall; the Brakebills kitchen boasts a degree of culinary sophistication unusual in an educational institution. Formality and punctuality are mandatory. The use of electrical appliances is kept to a minimum, as they behave unpredictably in the presence of magic. |

Athletics

There are no sports facilities of any kind. Dean Fogg considers sports to be a distraction from the academic study of magic. But there is a world-class welters board, and students are encouraged -- in fact they are required -- to play. |
